Freedom comes when God and I co-create

Advent Instrumental – by Don Coppo

Wednesday, Day 4: The with-God life

“John’s clothes were made of camel’s hair, and he had a leather belt around his waist. His food was locusts and wild honey.”
Matthew 3:4

Thought: Freedom comes when God and I co-create

John the Baptist was definitely different. He was smack dab in the center of God’s will for his life… the with-God life. No wonder he was so unique, so bold. He was free to be himself, his authentic self. He lived in a way that was detached from external voices and attached to God and God’s will. That kind of detachment-attachment is the definition of freedom and harmony with our created purpose. When we co-create with God, we glorify God, enjoy God and bring God’s joy to people. Now that’s living!

Practice:
Take time to notice people (in history or contemporary) who are free to live into their created purpose. Who are they? Why do they inspire you? Who/what do you think they are attached to? Detached from? Are there attachments in your life that you can release to live in harmony with God’s will? What does God want to co-create with you to bring His presence to the earth? Journal or talk to a spiritual friend about what you discover.

Pray: God of Creation, I want to glorify You, enjoy You and bring Your joy to people. Deliver me from attachments that keep me from living as my true self. Amen
