How are you?

Psalm 143 is the Psalm we’ve been praying with all week from the prayer guide we use at Crossroads We are learning new ways to rely on God. New ways to listen to one another’s anxieties, cares, and concerns. New ways for our faith to grow in unprecedented times. It’s amazing how the Psalmist is saying the words so many are feeling right now.

How are you? Seriously, how are you doing? We want to know how we can be praying for you.

Here’s how we’re doing-
This pandemic has not slowed anything down for us. We feel like we are planting Crossroads Church all over again, this time as an online community. Our ministry team is bringing their A-game. We are working long hours on an uncharted course. Honestly, our pastoral, office, tech, and e-teams are some of the best human beings God ever created!! Musicians are still practicing; Crossroads Food Pantry handles food emergencies, we’re calling to check on our older members who aren’t online. The church is here! Alive and full of the Holy Spirit!

Will you pray for us? We need your prayers, too! We’re in this together. The message of God’s love can live within and among us. Our faith is being strengthened daily as we put our hope in God and show up for each other, even if it’s with “physical distancing!” We’re not saying “social distancing” because we can be social and relational while practicing what our officials are asking us to do to put an end to COVID-19!

Whether you are attending church on Facebook or ccmonline.org, share the link below with a friend and ask them to come with you to church!

With love and prayer,

Scott and Clare

Communion Prayer-

Celebrating Communion with us on Facebook Live or ccmonline.org

As Crossroads continues to make your spiritual and physical health a priority during COVID-19 physical distancing, we are glad you are joining us on Facebook Live or Livestream on www.ccmonline.org. This page will help you prepare to receive communion with us. We miss seeing one another standing in line, lighting candles, writing prayers… but we can remember our love for God and one another as we remain connected in all the meaningful ways we can.

Communion or The Eucharist (term derived a Greek word, eucharistia, meaning thanksgiving) is a Biblical Sacrament in which Christians eat bread and wine/juice with the purpose of remembering Jesus Christ, receiving forgiveness, strength and healing and being renewed to serve the cause of Christ. It is a way we experience the Presence of Christ within and among us. It was established by Jesus during the Last Supper that he had with his friends on the evening before His death.

Preparation: Bring your bread of any kind and some wine or juice – whichever you prefer.  Break some pieces off, one for each person and follow along together.

Pastor:
I arise today, through
God’s strength to pilot me,
God’s might to uphold me,
God’s wisdom to guide me,
God’s eye to look before me,
God’s ear to hear me,
The Presence of Christ is with me and among us.

All:
Christ with me,
Christ before me,
Christ behind me,
Christ in me,
Christ beneath me,
Christ above me,

The Presence of Christ is with me and among us.

Pastor:
God’s word to speak for me,
God’s hand to guard me,
God’s shield to protect me,
God’s host to save me

All:
Christ on my right,
Christ on my left,
Christ when I lie down,
Christ when I sit down,
Christ when I arise

The Presence of Christ is with me and among us.

Pastor: Now let’s take a few moments in the silence to quiet our hearts.

Pastor:
You God are the source of all truth, wisdom, justice and love.  Help us to rest our lives on the foundation of your love and presence.  Holy Spirit, enlighten, instruct, protect, guide and heal us, this day and all the days of your lives.

ALL:
“While they were eating, Jesus took bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.”  Then He took the cup, gave thanks and offered it to them, saying, “drink from it all of you.  This is My blood of the new covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.”  Matthew 26:26-28

Pastor: “For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.“1 Corinthians 11:26

Take your bread and dip it into the wine/juice

To each other: May the Holy Spirit fill your heart and mind with Christ’s presence and peace. Amen

Now take the communion and spend a moment in silence and gratitude.

We encourage you to spend time in prayer before and after communion.  God wants to communicate with you as you have honored the most timeless Christian sacrament honoring the Passion of Christ.
