International Enneagram Association Accredited Enneagram Program and Professional
Principal, Crossroads Soul Resources School of Spiritual Direction
Author Enneagram Personality Styles a Tool for Transformation, Motions of the Soul,
Co-Author Spiritual Rhythms of the Enneagram

At 40 (ten years into our church plant), I was given a devastating diagnosis and discovered the art of spiritual direction and contemplative ways to practice my activism. As a person in her 60s, I have lived through the stages of formation, deformation, reformation, and transformation in my faith journey. I serve on boards in the arena of justice, including anti-human trafficking, sexual assault, and domestic violence, from a contemplative space. I practice my faith momently, believing that action and contemplation are inextricably bound. Salve Diem and Carpe Diem meet. Justice and contemplation join hands.

I am passionate about helping people affirm they are loved and made in God's image, claim their inherent greatness, and intentionally establish and maintain spiritual rhythms so that they can do the work of justice with joy for the long haul.

Married to the love of my life circa 1981, undaunted mom of 4 circa 1981, and wildly grateful for 7 (and counting!) grandchildren circa 2005, I can't get over how fast life goes and how much I want to be present fully here and now.

I have provided vision and executive oversight for Crossroads Church and Ministries (CCM), Bread of Life Food Pantry, CCM World Missions, Michigan Human Trafficking Task Force. I have spent my adult life leading teams, ministries, and educational agencies to embody the good news of Jesus to seekers, the poor and marginalized. Whether serving as a spiritual director, pastor, author, and social entrepreneur, I want to help leaders navigate the journey of contemplation and action, with a commitment to lead from within.
As a profoundly grateful follower of Jesus, devoted husband, dad, and grandpa, I see life generationally and want to assist others in leaving a legacy that has meaning beyond this hairbreadth of life.

Bio:

To be seen, known and to belong. I believe every human being has a story beginning with these longings. Yet rarely are we invited into a welcoming space to express, explore, and experience these desires. Rooted in the stream of the evangelical tradition, I am deeply committed to the Scriptures as God’s Word and the person of Christ above all other considerations. I offer spiritual direction that embraces the contemplative, holiness, and incarnational traditions. Additionally, I value mystery and holy curiosity. I seek truth, beauty and goodness in transformation that can unfold in the presence of grace. My hope is to create a hospitable and sheltering space for individuals wherever they are in their story; not where they pretend to be or wish to be. My desire is to lean into the harmony of God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit while keeping company with another as they explore their relationship to God, themselves, and others.

Areas of specialty or interest: Trinitarian theology, Ignatian spirituality, iEnneagram harmony triad, relational spirituality, one on one spiritual direction, grief and sorrow, hope for relational restoration, women desiring to be seen and belong

I am drawn to Spiritual Direction as it offers a way of being with, and deepening relationship with, God that teases apart the voice of God from the voice of cultural Christianity. After growing up in the church and being deeply impacted by its legalism, I left the church for many years. This time was a period of reflection on my experiences in the church and a time of knowing God in new ways. I have come full circle and now participate in, and deeply love a local church. I carry a conviction that often such a journey is necessary in order to make one’s faith personal. I am very thankful for my journey and the deepness of relationship with God that I have and continue to seek. Spiritual Direction has facilitated that journey for me and I am honored to share that with others. I believe I am able to offer a warm compassionate presence where nothing will shock me. Personal honesty is hard work and having an accepting, compassionate presence facilitates the process of honesty with self and God. I would be honored to walk with you on your journey as you seek to have a greater awareness of and deeper relationship with God in your day-to-day life.

Specialty or Interests: I often work with young adult women in ministry who are seeking to balance ministry responsibilities with an intimate, growing relationship with the Spirit.

In much of my employed life, I focused on what I did or accomplished. In these last few years being retired, I am learning and discovering my own intrinsic value and I am experiencing more fully, my own true essence. We are all created in the image of God. What He knows and sees in each of us is what He has created. .. and, it is Very Good!! I am an attentive listener. I am becoming more aware of the movements of the Holy Spirit in my own life, as well as in the lives of others. I see and acknowledge another’s potential, which often promotes their confidence. It is my desire to be curious rather than to look for answers. Spiritual transformation is a process as we learn and develop our inner life.

Specialty or Interests: I have extensive experience in counseling. I enjoy creating and designing living spaces, music (cello), gardening and house plants. I enjoy being outdoors and camping. Regular fitness practices foster my emotional balance and health.
