You know we’re ready to accept the invitation if you read yesterday’s post on Carnival Barkers at the party.
This weekend we are hosting the…wait for it… “The Transformation Party!” Who doesn’t want more of that?
Think about it. When communities are full of financial disparity, sexism, racism, and phobias of every kind, we cease to listen, value, and ultimately belong to each other. This lack of belonging is deformational.
When churches are full of people who have confirmed their beliefs but haven’t renewed their minds, there is no fundamental transformation and the Good News of Jesus- is, well, isn’t just bad news; it’s the deformation of Jesus’ mission.
Real transformation is the renewal of the mind, i.e., our thinking, feeling, and doing. Releasing our ‘isms and false religious self-constrictions opens the way to be born anew.
Say it with us now: We need transformation!
So this weekend, we host a Transformation party for those who long for love in their relationship with God, neighbor, and self. We engage the wisdom of the Enneagram map for spiritual transformation in this way:
You belong.
Come as you are.
Let go of what’s false,
the echo chambers,
lies,
and all that keep you from Life more abundantly.
Become who you are,
your true self
made in God’s image.
Experience the Good News in us and among us. Amen
Today, we welcome Crossroads School of Spiritual Direction. A group of missionaries, pastors, therapists, and other helping professionals who are in their second year studying to certify in the Art and Practice of Spiritual Direction.
Tomorrow, we will add retreat guests to the party. They will join in for a three-hour tour on “Relationships and the Enneagram.” All told, we have several countries and states gathering together online and in person for the intentional practice of spiritual transformation. Who knew little Crossroads in Marshall, Michigan, could be such a place? God did. Selah
