Journey to Easter Day 25 – Only one eternal shame

Todays Scripture- Romans 1:1-7, 16-18full passage at the bottom of the page)

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes…”

Paul was not ashamed to live his life of faith.

What are you ashamed of? We have all done things that have made us blush or have regret… maybe even the deepest regret.  There are things we are ashamed of that we have done or have failed to do.  The good news is we should never live ashamed of ourselves.

Coco Chanel said it this way, “How many cares one loses when one decides not to be something but to be someone.” There is no greater satisfaction than to live as the someone God brilliantly designed and co-create with God the life we were meant to live.  When we bring our shame to God, receive release from its power, we experience the reality of our Divine Nature… the “someone” we were created to be!

There is only one eternal shame and that is not receiving the grace of Christ given so freely for our sin and shame.  The work of Christ on the Cross, was designed to give you internal freedom from shame… eternal freedom from your guilt.  Lets join Saint Paul in saying, “I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.”  Don’t let anyone mislead you, it is the only way to be the freed self you long to be…

Give in– to the work of forgiveness found at the cross of Christ.

Give up– shame for the things you have done and things you have failed to do.

Give out– from that place of internal and eternal freedom, the message of Christ and His salvation.  Please do not live the one eternal shame.

Romans 1:1-7, 16-18 Paul, a bond-servant of Christ Jesus, [called as an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God,which He promised beforehand through His prophets in the holy Scriptures, concerning His Son, who was born of a descendant of David according to the flesh, who was declared the Son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, according to the Spirit of holiness, Jesus Christ our Lord, through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles for His name’s sake, among whom you also are the called of Jesus Christ;

to all who are beloved of God in Rome, called as saints: Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “But the righteous man shall live by faith.”
