And she gave birth to her firstborn son and wrapped him in bands of cloth and laid him in a manger, because there was no place in the guest room. Luke 2:7
For God so loved the world, God became a brown-skinned baby refugee born to a single woman who talked to angels. Did you catch it? God chooses the least valued people to be the major players in the story of Love. The question is can your people fit into this Christ-story? Holy Christmas, yes, they can! That’s the point!
Whoever you are, you are loved.
Whatever your family looks like, you are loved.
Whatever your family story, you are loved.
Whatever other people think or say about you, you are valued and loved.
This Christmas, let’s choose to be rooted and grounded in Love. May we value Christ and our neighbor as we value ourselves. And by grace, through faith, Love and value will transform us, make us holy, and able to fully participate in the continuing Grand Story of God.
Every blessing from our “Holy Christmas!” story to yours,
I pray that, according to the riches of his glory, he may grant that you may be strengthened in your inner being with power through his Spirit, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith, as you are being rooted and grounded in love.I pray that you may have the power to comprehend, with all the saints, what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ that surpasses knowledge, so that you may be filled with all the fullness of God. ~ From St. Pauls letter to the Ephesians
