Got Spirit?
For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.” (Acts 1:5) … All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other tongues as the Spirit enabled them. (Acts 2:4)…But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. (Galatians 5:22-23 NIV)
This last Sunday we talked about the ascending of Jesus to Heaven… “Ascension Sunday” on the Christian calendar. That celebration marks the Scriptural promise of the Holy Spirit… the gifts of the Spirit and our need to be filled! This coming Sunday is celebrated as “Pentecost Sunday” on the Christian calendar. We will be talking about the fruit that comes from abiding in Christ and being filled with His Spirit. Pentecost turned the ritual of religion into a vibrant, powerful, life-filled relationship with God!
Can we even imagine how different our lives would be if we were abiding and abounding in God’s own Spirit? Take time today to ask God to fill you with His very own Spirit… then watch how life changes. We hope you can join us this Sunday as we continue looking at what it means to be filled.
