Famous Last Words: A person’s last words can tell us about who they loved, how they gave and ultimately what they believed.Read a few last words from some famous people: Isaac Newton: “I don’t know what I may seem to the world. But as to myself I seem to have been only like a boy playing on the seashore and diverting myself now and then finding a smoother pebble or a prettier shell than the ordinary, whilst the great ocean of truth lay all undiscovered before me. Jean Paul Sartre: I failed!” Leonardo da Vinci: I have offended God and mankind because my work did not reach the quality it should have” Joan Crawford: “D*** it . . . Don’t you dare ask God to help me. (To her housekeeper who had begun to pray aloud.) These are very revealing words. And then there are the last words of the Savior. Real words of forgiveness, love, human need, relinquishment and success. “Father, forgive them for they know not what they do.” Luke 23:34 “Today you will be with Me in Paradise.” Luke 23:43 “Woman, behold your son.” John 19:26 “My God, My God, why have You forsaken Me?” Matthew 27:46 “I thirst!” John 19:28 “It is finished!” John 19:30 “Into Your hands I commit My spirit.” Luke 23:46 On this Good Friday, allow the final words of Jesus to change how you love, give and believe. We invite you to join us this Good Friday (services at noon, 6pm andThe Passion at 7pm) this Easter (services at 9:30am and 11:15am) and to our next series (End of the World: Fact or Fiction? beginning May 1).
