Advent & the Enneagram Welcoming Presence

²⁵“There will be signs in the sun, the moon, and the stars, and on the earth distress among nations confused by the roaring of the sea and the waves. ²⁶People will faint from fear and foreboding of what is coming upon the world, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken. ²⁷Then they will see ‘the Son of Man coming in a cloud’ with power and great glory. ²⁸Now when these things begin to take place, stand up and raise your heads, because your redemption is drawing near.”
Luke 21:25-28

We may not be in the end of times but this Advent scripture from the Lectionary (and many others in this season) have us paying attention in fresh ways. During a time when people want to faint because of fear and foreboding how do you raise your head, watch for and welcome the presence of Christ?

The welcoming presence of Christ is present throughout scripture. When we look up and see our redemption or when we get up and go home like the prodigal son, we know we belong to God. Christ embodies the willingness to draw us near and welcome us. How have you been motivated to look up and see or get up and go home to God, where you belong?
