Lectionary Reading from the Blue Book =) Psalm 65
You who answer prayer,
to you all people will come.
When we were overwhelmed by sins,
you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose
and bring near to live in your courts!
We are filled with the good things of your house,
of your holy temple. Psalm 65:2-4
On the fourth Sunday of Advent, we read scriptures about God’s giving nature and some of the major players in the Christmas Story. We marveled at Mary, the way she opened her life to the life of Christ within her and fulfilled the mission of God on the earth. We meditated on our Christmas gift-giving as a reflection of God the Generous One. This week’s Psalm continues the story of the Grand God we love.
Today, on Day 21 in our Advent journey, Life Coach Chris Heinz helps us unwrap the presence of the Generous Christ. He sees Jesus coaching us to live a life of generosity. From the ways Christ lived, taught, and related, we experience an open-handed, lavish God.
