40 Days of Connection: Feasting or Scarcity?

Orvieto Italy, 2017. Feasting at the Zeppelin!

Lectionary reading from the Blue Book: Psalm Isaiah 55 read full passage here

Ho, everyone who thirsts,  come to the waters; and you that have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Why do you spend your money for that which is not bread, and your labor for that which does not satisfy? Listen carefully to me, and eat what is good, and delight yourselves in rich food. Incline your ear, and come to me;  listen, so that you may live.

Our friend Rob didn’t die and we were celebrating!

On a pilgrimage, in the footsteps of the Saints, we lived through our own harrowing journey because Rob spent most of this trip in an Italian hospital. A really long story short, when he was released (after several days of prayer and nail-biting reports), we celebrated with a rich feast! Four years later, we are still listening to all God was speaking during that time of testing and spiritual formation.

What story still has you listening to God’s version of what happened?

Sometimes the outcome of traumatic experiences is not what you want, and yet it has formed your faith. Is “scarcity and deforming” or “feasting and transforming” defining the story.

Sit with God or with God and a spiritual friend. Tell your story again, listen and connect to the voice of Love…

Throw back song!!!
