40 Days of Connection: Do you understand what I just did?

Lectionary Reading from the Blue Book  John 13:12-15-The Passion Translation

After washing their feet, he put his robe on and returned to his place at the table.“Do you understand what I just did?” Jesus said. “You’ve called me your teacher and lord, and you’re right, for that’s who I am. So if I’m your teacher and lord and have just washed your dirty feet, then you should follow the example that I’ve set for you and wash one another’s dirty feet. Now do for each other what I have just done for you.

Reflections
Do you understand what Jesus has done for you? In hindsight, do you see it? Where have your feet been? How has Christ removed the dirt from where you’ve walked?

Practice
Talk to God. Take time to remember together what you’ve walked through and God’s loving care for you. Give thanks and share your heart with God. Throughout the day, watch for how you can offer your service to someone even if they don’t understand what you’re doing for them.

“Now, do for each other what Christ has done for you.”
