Drinking deep at The Springs Indiana

Lectionary reading from the Blue Book: Psalm 63:1-8 read full passage here

Psalm 63:1

O God, you are my God, I seek you, my soul thirsts for you;
my flesh faints for you, as in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

How much water a day should you drink? According to Harvard Health, there’s no one-size-fits-all answer. Water intake must be individualized, and you should check with your doctor if you are not sure about the right amount for you.

Many of us practice fasting during the season of Lent. Fasting is a time when we remove food and drink to pay attention to God. When hunger or thirst comes up, it is a signal to remember our need for God as more than drink or food. Maybe the most crucial question is not how much water you are drinking but how much of the Spirit you thirst for?

Take time to talk to God about what you thirst for…
Take more time to drink deep…
