“Courage is resistance to fear, mastery of fear, not absence of fear.” ~Mark Twain
What would a day without fear look like? Midday Prayers scripture reading (click below) shows us Jesus eating dinner with Judas, his betraying friend. That very night, Jesus knows he will be arrested, followed by his excruciating crucifixion. What is he doing? He’s haring a meal, washing friends feet and sharing his life mission with them. What do you do when faced with fear?
For Lent or even just today…
Give in- to the reality that fear can be real but is not your master.
Give up– natural ways of dealing with fear (anger, revenge, clinging, manipulating, avoidance, substances…)
Give out– to others the opposite of what you would naturally do.
