Friday, Day 20: The with-God life
Every warrior’s boot used in battle and every garment rolled in blood will be destined for burning, will be fuel for the fire. For to us a Child is born, to us a Son is given, and the government will be on His shoulders. And He will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:5-6
Thought: Every warrior’s boot… destined for burning. The promise of the Prince of Peace means there is a day when wars, domestic violence, child abuse and hate will cease. This Mighty God overcomes our human weakness. The Everlasting Father steps in and takes the place of absent, renegade dads. The Wonderful Counselor heals every shattered heart. This Child that is born changes everything. That day is coming… and for those of us who have received the Given Son, that day is now! We live the with-God life in the Spirit of the Mighty, Everlasting, Counseling God… the one who takes boots and garments that are rolled in blood and makes them fuel to empower justice and peace. Evil and death is swallowed up in the birth of the Holy Child Jesus. The government of our lives is upon His shoulders and His Kingdom shall have no end!
Practice: Join the flash mob in singing Isaiah 9: Wonderful, Counselor, the Mighty God, the Everlasting Father, the Prince of Peace!
Prayer: Wonderful Counselor, Your Kingdom is our Kingdom. We live this life with you now and always. In the Name of our Mighty God we sing Hallelujah to the One who is given! Amen.
